We are happy that you are thinking about producing your unique Swissbadge together with us! You don’t need in-depth design knowledge to create a great badge. Read our 7 tips and design a Swissbadge the way you want it!

Tip 1: Free design software to create your template

Tip 2: Choose high-contrast colours

Soft colour transitions may look great on paper or on the computer, but strong colour contrasts come across much better on a badge. That’s why it’s worth using a dark background colour and light colours in the foreground – or vice versa. This is how you create your perfect Swiss Badge!

Tip 3: Less is more

The more concrete the badge design, the sharper the image will ultimately be in the stick. In other words, details may look great digitally, but due to the material and the size of the badge, they don’t always come out well. Focus on the most important part of your Swiss Badge.

Tip 4: Size (doesn’t) matter

It’s best to create your design in the original size of your badge so that you get a realistic impression at this stage.

Tip 5: Reading is a skill

There are basically no restrictions on the font size. Our expertise allows us to embroider all possible variations. However, if you want to read the text well from a distance, you should stick to the following values from experience:

  • Reduce the use of text to a minimum
  • CAPITAL LETTERS significantly improve readability
  • 4-5mm is the ideal font size

Tip 6: Thick instead of thin lines

Since the Swiss Badges are all embroidered, thicker lines come out better. This is because they allow for a stronger colour fill than if the line consists of a single thread.

Tip 7: Go for Gold

Gold or silver thread framing individual elements gives your Swiss badge a unique look that is sure to make it an eye-catcher. This is mainly used for military and police badges.
